This post is part of the Five Minute Friday link-up where we write what’s on our heart for five minutes flat, unedited (hmmm…). The writing prompt for today is PLACE. Here goes –
John 14:2-3 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
BECAUSE it was my idol,
I was displaced from my workplace,
being replaced by a younger man; adding even more to the sting.
STILL there and feeling out-of-place in this old place,
one where I’ve worked for nearly twenty-one years.
I’ve been misplaced, more like set apart,
moved to a different building someplace down the street.
BUT God is everyplace; therefore,
I can go anyplace in confidence because He is with me.
I have a place in Christ, over which no man has control and no job can compare.
NOW, it’s up to me to live in the truth of who I am.
Lord, please help me to always remember who You are,
NEVER again allowing anything to take Your place.
BECAUSE you have chosen to remove the idol from your heart, God is going to honor you where you are. Thanks for being brave enough to share this place with us.
We all need to reassess and dethrone any idols we have allowed to shift Christ out of the center and bring Him back to His rightful place in the throne room of our hearts.
Visiting from #FMF.
Blessings
Gay, Thank you for your thoughtful words. Yes, it was a painful lesson, but a good one.
