Hello and welcome to The Caregiver Strong Podcast page. The purpose of this podcast to encourage and inform family caregivers.
I’m Suzette, and my goal with this limited-series podcast is to make your caregiving life just a little bit easier because (let’s be real) caregiving is no joke.
To call caregiving challenging is an understatement, and I know first-hand, having cared for my dad through recovery, cancer, and COPD. Then, my mom through heart disease and a bad fall, and now I’m happy to report she’s aging gracefully into her 90s. And for the last five years, my husband and I have cared for my sister, who had Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.
Boy! I wish I had someone to show me the ropes when it all started, and that’s why I’m here.
In this limited podcast, I’m sharing some of what I’ve learned about:
- staying organized to save time, stress, and steps,
- why self-care is so important to caregivers,
- helping you figure out what stage of caregiving you’re in, and
- the benefits of having a caregiver coach and how to find one to help you through it all.
And while I don’t have all the answers, I want you to know that I’m in this with you. So, I hope you’ll join me for these four episodes of The Caregiver Strong Podcast, and maybe, together, we can make this caregiving life just a little bit easier.
