Timer set – Go
2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; (NASB)
I’m reflecting on this new road I’m on and asking, is it inspired? Is God the inspiration behind these words, or is it only me. I pray it’s not only me!
For years I put my job above all else. I developed skills to do it well and pushed to excel at it, to be acknowledged. Then God rearranged my life to end all of that.
I always wanted to write. I’ve committed to it before, only to be deterred by the tech-savviness required to run a blog that actually attracts readers, but I’m determined to succeed. There I go again, striving to make it really good. To get noticed. To say I accomplished something. I REALLY enjoy writing, but I don’t want to replace one idol with another.
I’m starting to look at this writing road as a service more than an accomplishment. What does God want to say to that one person He handpicks to find and read a particular post? If a service, my words must be God-inspired. I must have God-confidence before making another post. I must be His first.
Lord, develop in me a servant’s heart so that I may always look to You first. You put this desire in my heart and I trust that you will make it fruitful. I must cease striving and know that you are God (Ps 47:10).
Time is up –
This is the October writing challenge from Five Minute Friday. The plan is to successfully post everyday. We write for five minutes (unedited and that’s a challenge) and stop. Visit FMF to see more posts.
