This is the October Writing Challenge from Five Minute Fridays. The plan is to successfully post everyday.  We write for five minutes (unedited-that’s a challenge) and stop. Visit FMF to see more posts. http://fiveminutefriday.com/community/

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. (NKJV)

Start –

I’m a mother of four and grandmother to six (thank you, Lord!). I can remember the why’s echoing through the house sometimes until I sent them out to play, to do chores, or homework, or until I just scooped them up for a kiss. Anything to make the questions stop because I didn’t have all the answers. Our Father in heaven doesn’t do that. He answers or He doesn’t, at least not in our time frame.

In this passage we learn that His thoughts are not ours, that His thoughts are higher than ours. Well ya…He has all the answers. He knows them all, even before we ask the questions. Whether we are six or sixty, we keep asking. In His will, we’ll hear His response. Our responsibility at that point is to trust and obey. We may not like hearing that we have to stay in that job, or that we can’t go on that trip, or shouldn’t marry that person. What we must realize is that His love is bigger than ours, too.

When His answer is no that’s what he means, and when it’s yes then we must move. It’s when He says wait that the struggle is toughest for me. I want to do something. So, in my waiting, I’m learning to prepare for the next step. For what I believe he placed in my heart. I might not be ready to write that book yet, so He has me learning to write here, in this blog. He will tell me why later after He’s made me ready.

Stop for today – This is a bit longer than 5 minutes
