Friends, as we gain greater understanding of the Holy Spirit and the qualities He’s cultivating in us, why not take time to reflect on what He’s already done in your life? Things you may not have recognized before.
Are you more patient with others? That includes teenagers, toddlers, aging parents, anyone driving in front of you, your spouse, even your boss. Yeh, patience is a tough one. It’s not about perfection, it’s about progress.
Are you making progress?
Are you finding joy in the simple things? Things like a sunny day in October, the last few Rose’s of the season, the first few fall colors showing up on your way to work. Yes! That’s a good one, I love fall.
Are you loving more, showing more self-control, are you more peaceful (another tough one)? Are you seeing goodness, faithfulness and all the rest in yourself or noticing them in others? I hope so. If not, look deeper because the Holy Spirit is not a quitter. Let Him show you.
John 14:26 says that God sent the Holy Spirit to teach us all things and remind us of everything Jesus taught His followers. John 14:16 promises the Spirit will help us and be with us forever. An infinite resource of God’s truth and love, indwelling your person. That’s what believers receive.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, this is what God the Father wants you to experience and share with others. Reach out to Him, He’s waiting for you.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

It’s October so this must be time for 31 Days of Five Minute Friday Free-Writes. The event is hosted by Kate Motaung over at Five Minute Fridays. We write daily for five minutes, or maybe a bit longer. The point is to write. Kate provides writers with a one-word writing prompt each day. Today the prompt is REACH.
This was perfect for me today. I have always been told that I have a long fuse and more patience than most people. I don’t know how true that is because I only know me this way. I think my patience wears most thin when I’m learning something new and want to know it all now. It’s then that I have to remember – progress not perfection. Thank you for your encouragement as I learn that. I’m not sure what my number in FMF is, but I’m your neighbor around #50.
I’m so glad you were encouraged today and thanks for spending some time here. I appreciate your comments.
