Pursuing God, really going after Him, seems like a daunting task. He’s God! All-knowing and all-seeing. Oh! One more thing, He’s everywhere at all times. If God is everywhere at all times, why would I pursue Him? He is already with me. Right?

Ever ride public transportation?  A perfect stranger can be very close to me in proximity, maybe even a little too close, but that doesn’t mean that I know them. Not even their name.

To learn more about that person I must pursue information. Seek out details about his or her life. Likes, dislikes, highs and lows, things they may never share, even after pursuing it for a long time.

They might want to know me better, too, before divulging inner secrets. Often times we get hurt in this process. Information is used against us. We are judged or judge others based on things that are part of our life story but out of our control.

God isn’t like that. He makes Himself available from a position of love. His arms are open, just like His Son’s were on the Cross. God sacrificed His only Son to save you and me because He loves us (John 3:16). Present tense. He does judge, based on His Word, but He doesn’t condemn (Romans 8:1).

God loves us and wants all of us to know Him. We have all we need in His Word, seek after Him there. Seek after Him on your knees, in prayer.

Luke 11:9-10 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

If you haven’t already, start seeking after Him today. I guarantee He’ll find you first.
