My Concrete Dove
Making your caregiving life just a little bit easier.
Your Identity in Powerful Prayers
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you. Psalm 139:17-18
Your Identity Statement – We All Have to Start Somewhere
Believing that nonsense about myself meant that I didn’t believe God. Know this–God cannot lie (Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18). I realized, with the help of the Holy Spirit, that by believing bad things about myself I was really saying God was a liar. OK, now He had my attention.
We Have Blessed Assurance Through Our Identity in Christ
Draw closer to Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth about who you are. Consider starting a journal to capture what God is illuminating for you. Make a list of words you want to see in your identity statement.

Why Do You Need an Identity Statement?
A word of caution. This is not for the faint of heart but, go for it even if you are, it is worth the effort and emotions involved. I can promise you two things, you won’t be alone in the process and you will be stronger when you put a period at the end of your identity statement (Joshua 1:9).
Who are You?
Did you know that our identity is in Christ? It comes from Christ Jesus. This thought may be new to you. It’s more than just a thought for those who have accepted Christ as their Savior. It’s a truth. Over the next few weeks, we’ll intentionally explore scripture to learn about who God says we are. Then we’ll get busy writing our own Identity Statements.
